The Full Story
Why did I create Bison and Buckle
I’ve always enjoyed building and creating things that are both useful and appreciated. I first learned leatherwork at a young age and found my way back to it later in life. What began as a few handmade gifts -wallets, journals, purses - turned into something more as people responded to the craftsmanship and durability. After making pieces for friends and family, I decided to turn the hobby into a business, and Bison and Buckle was born.
The name comes from time spent in Wyoming visiting family, watching buffalo move through Yellowstone - calm, protective, and quietly powerful. That spirit runs through everything I make.
Leather Craft
I make small batches of products using quality leather sourced for its strength, character, and texture. Using time-honored techniques and a trained eye for detail, I shape every piece by hand. The result? Leather goods built to endure daily use, age gracefully, and tell a better story with time.
Inspiration
Inspired by saddle-work, the grit of cowboy gear, and the natural tones of the western landscape, each design is a nod to the past with a function for the present. I favor simple forms, clean edges, and thoughtful touches that let the beauty of the leather speak for itself.
My Philosophy
Each piece I make carries craftsmanship, tradition, and spirit - stitched to last, and worthy of being handed down to the next generation.
